Bajrang Punia Biography: Wrestler Bajrang Punia on September 18, 2022, became the first Indian to win four medals at the World Wrestling Championships by winning a Bronze Medal in the current edition of the tournament. Bajrang Punia, who won a Bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics 2021, eked out a close 11-9 win on points over Sebastian C Rivera of Puerto Rico in one of the Bronze medal bouts. Punia is an Indian freestyle wrestler, who competes in the 65-kg weight category and has made the country by winning various wrestling tournaments around the world.

Bajrang Punia Wife, Early Life, Family, Background and other details
Bajrang Punia was born on February 26, 1994, in the Khudan Village Jhajjar District in Haryana, India. Punia started wrestling at the young age of seven and was further encouraged to pursue the sport by his father. Because of the weak financial background, Bajrang Punia had to partake in free sports such as Kabaddi and Wrestling.
He started to skip school to go to wrestling practice and went to Chattarsal Stadium Stadium in 2008 where he was trained by Ramphal Mann. Later in 2015, Bajrang Punia's family shifted to Sonepat so that he can attend to a regional center of the Sports Authority of India.
Currently, Bajrang Punia works in the Indian Railways on the post of the Gazetted Officer OSD Sports. He is married to a fellow wrestler Sangeeta Phogat Punia.
Bajrang Punia Wrestling Career
1. World Wrestling Championship
Bajrang Punia won a Bronze Medal in the Men's freestyle 60 kg category by qualifying for the Bronze Medal bout through the repechage round.
2. Commonwealth Games
In Glasgow, Scotland in 2014, Bajrang Punia won a Silver Medal in the men's freestyle 61 kg category, after losing 1-4 to David Tremblay of Canada.
3. Asian Wrestling Championship
In May 2017, Bajrang Punia won a Gold Medal at the Asian Wrestling Championship held in New Delhi.
4. Commonwealth Games
In the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, Bajrang Punia won the Gold Medal in the Men's freestyle 65 kg category. He defeated Kane Charig of Wales by Technical Superiority to win the Gold Medal.
5. Tokyo Olympics 2020
On August 6, 2021, Bajrang Punia won the pre-quarterfinal match in the 65 kg category in Summer Olympics 2020 against Ernazar Akmataliev, and his quarter-final match against Morteza Ghiasi Cheka. In the Bronze Medal match, Punia defeated the wrestler from Kazakhstan Daulet Niyazbekov, winning by a margin of 8-0.
