The Biogeography deals with the geographical distribution of plants and animals. There are 10 bio-geographical Zones in India. The bio-geographical province is an ecosystematic or biotic subdivision of realm. India is divided into 25 bio-geographic provinces.

Biogeography classification of India was done by Rodgers and Panwar in 1988. The classification was done using various factors such as altitude, moisture, topography, rainfall etc.
