112 contestants from all over the world competed for the 59th Miss World crown. The pageant was held on December 12 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Miss Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino clinched the title. She became the first Miss Gibraltar ever to win the Miss World. The 1st Runner-up was Miss Mexico Perla Beltran while Tatum Keshwar from South Africa became the 2nd Runner-up. Miss India Pooja Chopra was among the finalists despite of her serious ankle injury. She also won the ‘Beauty With a Purpose’ title for her ‘Nanhi Kali’ project which helps small girls fight poverty.
