Australia’s Mitchell Starc is the leader in the list of bowlers with the most five-wicket hauls in the World Cup. The left-arm fast bowler has recorded 3 five-wicket hauls in just two World Cups. Starc has played 18 innings and amassed a total wicket count of 49, with his best figures being 6/28. He is currently the fifth-highest wicket-taker in the World Cup and is set to appear in the upcoming 2023 ICC World Cup in India.
#2 Gary Gilmour

Gary Gilmour is another Australian pacer who terrorised the batsmen in the 70s. Gilmour participated in only the 1975 World Cup and played only two games but took two five-wicket hauls, one in each game. It’s one of the most incredible accomplishments in the World Cup. Gilmour’s best figures are 6/14.
#3 Vasbert Drakes

Vasbert Drakes was a Barbadian cricketer who played for West Indies. He was a right-arm medium-fast bowler and only appeared in the 2003 World Cup. However, Drakes left his mark in the tournament, having registered two five-wicket hauls in just 6 innings. He took 16 wickets in total in the World Cup, with his best figures being 5/33.
