    Wimbledon was also cancelled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic caused widespread disruption to sporting events around the world, and Wimbledon was no exception. The tournament was not held for the first time since 1945.

    The first players of the Wimbledon Championship men’s singles were Spencer Gore and William Marshall according to Wikipedia. Roger Federer is the most successful men's singles player in Wimbledon history, with 8 titles. He is followed by Pete Sampras and Novak Djokovic, who both have 7 titles.
